1. …writings say it better (for once!)

arizona muse, dunno for what and if you know please let us know haha.

the title of the tee says it better, merci beaucoup.

to all agencies, photographers, stylists, hair and make up artists, faithful followers or casual readers. MERCI BEAUCOUP.

thought this pic was a beautiful way to say thanks, maybe wrong maybe right but felt it was necessary one way or another.

just as a blast from the past this pic reminds me of how arizona’s photographs came to my eyes. a few polas, a few commercial shots, nothing supposed to be special but i felt she had it. deep inside. and time made her more than just a successful model. time and talent. the latter is hard to spot even for good eyes.

that’s the deal my dear. that’s today’s reality and that’s larger than your craziest dreams if you are PATIENT enough.

  2. …only looking to me

the fdib favorites @ iconic management, germany

times of changes, uncertain and exciting somehow, frustrating sometimes too.

but berlin in the radar with some favorite ladies at iconic (sorry couldn’t put them all here but they all deserve). stylish b&w still does it better. picky management as well. from almost-total newbies to famous faces, the set is complete. looking forward to another suffocative summer in germany. all words weighed.

  3. …wicked love

    charlotte @ model+, poland

amica did it again. favorite italian magazine and that’s not an easy task since the competition is tough since italian vogue is most likely the best of its name.

have known her from the start, not only like the performance but — the person too. the wild child behind the visuals, the energy and personality that bring everything to life.

end is soon, couldn’t not drop a final stanza on mademoiselle charlotte tomaszewska, uncertain times but full of ideas and inventions. just need time, will and strength to see them come true. gimme patience.

it’s almost summer. then fall, then winter and then spring again, time of rebirth and so on. seasons circle. recycling, revamping, reviving.

i (we) love the way you (they all) get mad.

  4. …like there is no tomorrow

    ania @ ice², milano

next year is supposed to be the end of the world and next month is the end of our myth. it’s time for happy ending, and hopefully good brand new starts too, no matter how this era is supposed to last.

ania, as portrayed by mara corsino, young and strong and free of all these questions.

and ps/pm: take my heart don’t lose it.

  5. …one more time before the curtain falls

dovile virsilaite @ models 1 (also oui and ny models now).

by andrea carter-bowman - all the stuff and much much more out there.

one of the most frequently featured model in fdib’s history. taking a brand new start as well these days. double symbol if we may say, and a pleasure to drop a note on andrea’s work once more before it stops.

  6. …and you want to think that it’s real, oh so real

milla jovovich and natalia vodianova by vincent peters

there would not be a proper ending to fdib without a last (or prelast who knows? one month to countdown!) post on tfuc, one of the most creative place online and who knows, a kind of fucked-up fdib’s twin.

tfuc’s latest feature is an interview of vincent peters, who told the fuck-up crew that “digital [has] done to photography what low cost planes [have] done to spain”. similar comparisons could be done for other aspects of the fashion/modeling business.

    read and watch.

soon to say farewell fdib but long live tfuc.

  7. …the end.

Dear readers, friends and collaborators of all kind, as you may have guessed reading the title or seeing the visual we have chosen for today, this is going to be a rather special post in FDIB’s history. First of all, we would like to thanks everyone who followed or took part in the incredible venture this project was for us during five years full of passion and dedication to what became our main activity through seasons: modeling and fashion in general.
This post isn’t going to be the last one ever but certainly opens a new chapter for FDIB, the final chapter if we may say. The idea of our project coming to its end soon has been running wild in our minds these last few months and now that the decision has been made, we thought we owed you a few lines to clarify the situation. We are not going to leave fashion at all and can even say we’re more into than ever, ready and excited to write a new page, to get involved in new projects and new collaborations. Such changes, of course, wouldn’t make any sense without closing FDIB first as we both need time and energy to focus on our respective projects and as we both like things to be clear.
Thanks to everyone who helped and supported us through the years and made us able to turn what was initially a simple picture database into a real online newspaper on fashion, photography and modeling. Thanks again to all the people who gave us their warm and sincere feedback and spread the love around. Thanks to all agencies, photographers and other professionals who have supported this blog and contributed to its success. You were always fantastic and we both look forward to keeping working with you in our future projects. For any questions, suggestions feel free to contact us on our respective mail addresses (penelope@mariemaud.com and maud@mariemaud.com).
Last but not least, FDIB will only close in July of this year and will remain active till then, so for those who were saddened by today’s news: you can cheer up thinking you’ve got two more months of FDIB ahead of you!

  8. …prendre l’exit

maaike klaasen @ sps, the netherlands from sleek magazine.

the eternal shifts of the restless chameleons, walking step by step towards the last exit.

  9. …moonday

veerle @ bloom management, the netherlands

just featured and here are some polas to go with it. good moonday (not a typo) to everyone!

  12. …coming soon

    ronja @ new york models

one of the most interesting persons i have met in new york. still undercover for now but let’s see what happens next for her. last words we had were ‘good luck’ and i really mean them. coming soon on fdib a report on ronja and the sequel (or prequel? - up to you) of this new york trip to be up on new york models blog. words words words. and soon facts.

one last thing? how soon is soon when one says coming soon? always impatient but can take time to make things happen. good energy doesn’t know timing issues i guess.

  13. … lotus eater

  14. …a blast from the what?

    johanna jonsson @ modellink, sweden

got these new polas this afternoon along with johanna’s cover and editorial for plaza magazine. tasted like a blast from the past… at first look. cause does she really belongs to the past? and if yes then what past. its not that long ago and in some way we could almost her career hasnt started yet. maybe what happened then was a first and now the big jumb. maybe, maybe not. dunno but dunno whats the past actually.

there are naturally things you move on from, elements you get rid of forever and others you thought you got rid off, even sometimes wanted to leave behind and at the end of the day are the start of a new journey. they just remained ‘frozen’ somewhere in your mind, on hold or you were trying to hide them. and one day they strike back and you’ve got to handle them for real. no escape, no exit. face to face and lets see what will happen then.

makes you feel how closely past and future can be linked to each other. how much present is the fragile sum of past moments and future dreams. that sounds so off topic right now but believe me, so spot on at the same time.

  15. …more soon?

kelly mittendorf, from the agency az, now at marilyn, in new york.

just featured on fdib yesterday, in a story shot by nando esparza. in stories actually as nando took care of exploring every side of her looks.

    more soon?
