1. …vision of femini(ni)ty

freja by cass bird from the upcoming issue of dossier (issue 6 fall/winter 2010)

not loving the cover as much as i love this outtake but still not tired of freja, not at all (ditto on daria who was the previous issue’s ‘muse’).

quite interesting how i saw this and vogue italia the same morning, as the latter says vision of femininity on its cover. with miranda kerr in three dimensions holding her yorkshire terrier. do not need another toy, though… talking about both the visual effects and the dog. and funny how femininity is depicted there, wondering how much irony there with possibilities going from zero to hundred percent. the first preview from the story inside gives you a hint… or not. mystery but do no need another mystery (of that kind).

mysterious could also describe freja on the picture above. again, the cover doesn’t appear to be as subtle as that shot but it’s been a while i forgot about judging a book by its cover. may it be glossy and eye-appealing (and this one actually is).

mysterious like femini(ni)ty is, rather coming from ‘the inside’ than from garments, especially when those are linking back to some clothing codes. i see femini(ni)ty as a feeling and it can be released or translated several ways. feminine is neither girly nor sexy, might not even be womanly as odd as i may sound saying this. androgyny may even enhance it sometimes. it’s all in the way you live it and when it comes to clothes, in how you work them out being the woman you feel you are or you want to be.

leave alone your makeup and other stereotype. on rainy mornings shapeless knitwear does it better.

got greasy hair and i don’t care. even loving it.
